ABOUT EUPRAXIA

Eupraxia is a new organization created and administered by a team of musicians trained in the western classical tradition. The guiding principle of Eupraxia is the application of artistic training and knowledge toward positive social action. Musical performance is central to Eupraxia's efforts; in addition, the team's diverse array of talents outside of classical performance practice and each member's strong conviction to be a compassionate and conscientious local and global citizen drive the creation and realization of each project. Eupraxia provides free concerts for the ill and infirm, develops innovative thematic programs, engages in educational activities for both novices and connoisseurs, and collaborates with artists from nonmusical disciplines. Though Eupraxia is based in New York City, it is national in scope, with projects in Louisville, Houston, and Western Washington State.

Our Programs:

MOONDOG RISING
'Moondog Rising' is a unique collaboration between organizations, performers, artists, scholars, and supporters convening in New York for two days (November 2 and 3), of concerts, a symposium, and social action in honor of Moondog (Louis Hardin), a prolific but under-recognized composer.

SIMPLE GIFTS
Simple Gifts provides the ill, infirm, and other underserved communities with free chamber music concerts. Since 2002, Simple Gifts has presented over 40 such concerts in facilities, private homes, and rural communities, primarily in Washington State. All of Eupraxia members participate in this program and are committed to its expansion into a national project.

NEW PROJECT OF LOUISVILLE
The New Project of Louisville was born in 2004 as an outlet for novel presentations of classical music within the Louisville community. By employing unique musical programming and collaboration between artists of varying disciplines, NPL has worked to perpetuate Louisville's tradition as one of America's greatest and most polychromatic cultural centers.

AN EXCITING EVENT
An Exciting Event is a newly formed ensemble of Texas and Illinois-based performers and artists that creates visually, aurally, and gastronomically delightful puppetry and music performances appropriate for snug settings such as living rooms, tents, lobbies, hospital rooms, classrooms, and barns.
